Audiometry

Audiometry exam is a diagnostic test that checks a patient’s hearing. It tests the intensity, tonal pitch, balance issues and other functions of the inner ear.

A very standard and non-invasive procedure, it can test for a variety of hearing problems like birth defects, ear infection, ear injuries and other ear related problems.

Preparation and Procedure

There are no specific preparations for an audiometry test. The doctor will perform a few tests based on what they want to check. The patient is given a set of headphones connected to the audiometer which will test for hearing sensitvity range and other qualities.
